In short

This is a small website for a marble and granite business in Ligourio, Argolida. It has no contact form, no newsletter, no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking or profiling technology.

Visiting a page does not put anything on your device. There is one optional feature — a Google map on the Contact page — and it does not load until you ask for it.

The only ways this site handles information about you are:

1. Technical request data that has to be processed for the page to reach your browser at all.
2. Whatever you choose to send us if you email or telephone us.
3. The record of your own cookie choice, if you make one.

Each is explained below.

This website is operated by the marble and granite business trading as egalanis, which has been working from Ligourio in Argolida since 1977, at the contact details published on this site:

For the processing described on this page, we are the data controller under the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679).

Serving the pages to you

This site is a set of static files hosted on Firebase Hosting, a Google service, and delivered through Google’s global content delivery network.

To send you a page, Firebase Hosting processes technical information about the request, including your IP address. Google documents that Hosting uses the IP addresses of incoming requests to detect abuse and to give customers analysis of usage data, and that it retains that IP data for “a few months”.

• Purpose: delivering the website you asked for, keeping it available and protecting it from abuse.
• Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating and securing the site (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Without processing the request, the page cannot reach you.
• Our role: we act as controller; Google acts as our processor under the Firebase Data Processing and Security Terms.
• Recipients: Google, and the subprocessors Google uses for Hosting. Google names Fastly, Inc. (United States) as the content delivery network that delivers Firebase Hosting content to end users. Google’s current list is published at firebase.google.com/terms/subprocessors.
• Where: Firebase Hosting uses a global content delivery network and serves content from the edge closest to you. Google’s terms permit processing in any country where Google or its subprocessors maintain facilities, so this is not limited to the EEA.
• Transfers outside the EEA: where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, Google’s terms provide for safeguards including the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and, for transfers to a certified Google entity in the United States, the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

We do not receive or keep our own copy of these request logs. We have not enabled the optional export of Firebase Hosting request logs to Google Cloud Logging.

If you contact us

There is no form anywhere on this site. If you want to reach us you email or telephone us using the details above, and then we hold whatever you chose to put in that message or say in that call.

• What: typically your name, your email address or phone number, and whatever you tell us about your enquiry.
• Purpose: answering you and dealing with the enquiry, including any follow-up about a possible or actual order.
• Legal basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, or performing one (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR), and otherwise our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
• How long: for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry and any business that follows from it, and after that for as long as we are required to keep records — for example, where an order was placed, the periods that tax and accounting law impose on us.
• Recipients: email you send us arrives in a mailbox provided by an external email service, which processes the message in order to deliver and store it. We do not pass your enquiry to anyone else for their own purposes, and we do not sell it, rent it or use it for marketing.

Please do not send us health information, information about your beliefs or political views, or any other special category of data. We do not need it and we do not ask for it. Nothing on this site is aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information about them.

The map on the Contact page

The Contact page can show an interactive Google map of where we are. It is switched off until you switch it on. The page is delivered with no Google Maps code in it at all, so nothing is requested from Google unless you press the button.

If you do load the map, your browser connects to Google, which lets Google receive your IP address, information about your browser and the address of the page you are on, and may let Google store or read information on your device. That is a decision for you to make, which is why it is asked as a question rather than done quietly.

Your choice is recorded on your own device and applies to later visits. You can change it at any time from Cookie preferences in the footer of any page. The Cookies & Technologies page explains exactly what is stored and how to withdraw.

• Legal basis for loading Google Maps: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, and Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive as transposed in Greece).

Links to other sites

The footer and header link to our Facebook and Instagram pages. These are ordinary links: nothing is embedded, and no data goes to Meta unless you click through, at which point you are on their service and their privacy policy applies.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to ask us for access to the personal data we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it, erase it, restrict how we use it or give it to you in a portable form. You can object to processing we carry out on the basis of legitimate interests. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time, and withdrawing does not affect anything done before you withdrew.

If you think we have handled your personal data wrongly, you can complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority:

Changes to this policy

If this site changes in a way that changes how it handles personal data, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it. If the change concerns something you previously consented to, you will be asked again rather than having an old answer carried over.
